Who is @mattalphapack ??
Matt Grant is a competitive strength athlete, personal trainer, nutritional advisor and sports massage therapist from West Sussex, UK. It all began at the age of 6, when he started playing for Brighton Rugby club. At 13 he was chosen for the School of Rugby for Harlequins and then asked to join their Elite Player Development Squad, where he first started weight training.
Unfortunately at 16 Matt tore his posterior cruciate ligament which meant he was unable to complete the trials for the England Rugby team and later left Harlequins. He continued to weight train and play rugby until 18 through a scholarship to Brighton College.
After College, Matt became a qualified personal trainer and nutritionist to pass on his knowledge of sport and help other people achieve their goals through strength training and lifestyle advice. Working for South Downs Leisure, Worthing and Grenade Fit, Chichester, he gained 5 years experience before working independently at Anytime Fitness, Worthing and as a sports massage therapist.
In 2018, Matt won South Essex Strongest Man, won Isle of Wight Strongest Man and came fourth in Britain’s Strongest Novice. He then went on to win Strongman Galaxy Bodypower Intermediate Strongman and place second in South Essex Intermediate Strongest Man in 2019. He is currently training for future competitions in 2020 and working as an online coach.
